The Mark 1 Escort was introduced in Ireland and Great Britain at the end of 1967. It made its international debut at the Brussels Motor Show in January 1968. The car replaced the very popular Ford Anglia and was an instant success in Europe and several other parts of the world. It came in various versions including a two-door, four-dour, station wagon and a panel wagon. Engine sizes varied from 1100, 1300 and 1600 cc . A higher performance version was also produced for rallies and racing. The Escort twin Cam was built for Group 2 international rallying. The Mark I escort went on to become a very successful rally car and became one of the most successful rally cars ever with its greatest victory probably the 1970 London to Mexico World Cup Rally.

This specific car is a 1973 1300L Station Wagon. The car was restored several years ago to a very high standard. It is a numbers match car and finished in the original colour combination

You seldom see an Escort Mark 1 on the road, let alone a Station Wagon! They are very rare with only around six or seven in the country.

Please take note that all cars can be viewed at showroom by appointment only.
