The first editions of the R230 generation of the Mercedes Benz SL-Class were introduced at the 2001 Frankfurt Motor Show. There were several updates and revisions, and the car was superseded by the R231 in 2011.
The R230 had a major facelift in 2008 and was revealed at the Geneva Motor Sow in March of that year. The car reflected Mercedes’s new design philosophy. The car had a more aggressive front end with two long power domes on the bonnet. The three-bar front grill was also replaced by a more distinctive single bar grill. All the engines across the range were also updated.
