1998 BMW 540i
The BMW E39 is the fourth generation of the BMW 5 series, a range of executive cars produced from 1996 to 2004. It was available in a 4-door saloon and a station wagon variant.
One of the top-of-the-line models available in the E39 series was the BMW540i, introduced in 1997. The car was fitted with BMW’s M62B44 engine. The 4,4L V8 engine produced 210kW. Zero to 100 km/h took 6.2 seconds, and top speed was electronically limited to 250 km/h, not bad performance for a 4-door saloon in 1997! There was choice between a manual or automatic gearbox.
This specific car is a 1998 model with 214000kms from new and a full-service history with BMW Agents and Specialists. It is one of the much-desired manual gearbox cars and is finished in stunning Calypso Red with beige interior. The car has been beautifully maintained. It offers M5-like performance at a fraction of the price!
