1974 Jaguar E-Type V12 Roadster
The Jaguar E-Type was a British sports car, manufactured between 1961 and 1974.The combination of beautiful styling and explosive performance established the E-Type as an icon of the motoring world, with some proclaiming it to be the most beautiful car ever made! The car was distinguished by its unitary construction, disc brakes, rack-and-pinion steering and independent front and rear suspension, as well as a top speed of 241km/h and a sub 7 second zero to 100km/h time! The E-Type spurred industry-wide changes. Series 1 and Series 2 cars were fitted with the 3,8 L and the 4,2 L six-cylinder engines.
The Series 3 E-Type was introduced in 1971, with a new 5.3 L Jaguar V12 engine, uprated brakes and power steering as standard. An automatic transmission, wire wheels and air conditioning were available as options. The short wheelbase FHC body style was discontinued, with the Series 3 only available as a convertible and a 2+2 coupe. The V-12 engine was equipped with four Stromberg carburetors and produced 203 kW with more torque and a zero to 100 km/h time of less than 7 seconds!
