1965 Volkswagen Type 34 Karmann Ghia

Volkswagen Karmann Ghia was a sports car produced by Volkswagen from 1955 to 1975. The Karmann Ghias combined floorplans and mechanicals from the Type 1 Beetle or the Type 3 ponton models. There were three different models, including the Type 14 Coupe and convertible, and the Type 34 Coupe, also known as the Razor Edge Ghia among enthusiasts. Styling was by Italy’s Carrozzeria Ghia and bodywork was hand-built by German coachbuilder Karmann.

The VW Type 34 Ghia is a classic Volkswagen model produced from 1962 to 1969, known for its stylish, “razor edge” design and a more spacious body compared to the Type 14 Ghia. It was built on the Type 3 chassis and was Volkswagen’s most luxurious model of its time. It featured a larger 1.5-liter or 1.6-liter engine and was popular in Europe but was never officially sold in the U.S. This specific car is a 1965 Type 34 Karmann Ghia. The type 34 cars were all coupes, so this car had its roof cut off at some point in its life. It is mechanically well sorted but needs cosmetic repairs! There is no roof available so a soft top or a hardtop roof will need to be manufacture specially for this car.
