1964 Porsche 356 C Coupe

The 356 was the first production car for Porsche. It was a rear-engine, rear wheel drive sports car that was very light and had unmatched handling characteristics. The car was available as a two-door coupe and as an open top. Porsche engineers continued to improve the car in the years of production. This increased the cars’ popularity and contributed to its success on the racetrack. Production started in 1948 and the first 50 cars were produced in Gmund, Austria. The factory relocated to Zuffenhausen in 1950 and production of the 356 continued until April 1965. 76000 cars were produced of which approximately half have survived.

This specific car is a 1964 C Coupe, finished in stunning Ruby red with a black interior. First delivered in August 1964, the car has a comprehensive service and repair history with a file of invoices, mostly done with Carrera Motors. The car is numbers match and is the original colour interior and exterior. It drives like a dream but, although the car is mechanically sound, fully licensed and on the road, it needs to be restored to get it back to its former glory.
