1964 Alfa Giulia Sprint GT

The Alfa Romeo 105 and 115 series Coupes were made by Alfa Romeo from 1963 to 1977. They were based on a shortened floor pan from the Giulia saloon.

The Giulia Sprint GT was the first Giulia sport introduced. It was first revealed at a press event at the factory in Arese in early September 1963, and then displayed at the Frankfurt Motor Show, later that same month. The Bertone body is known as the “Scalino”, or Step nose because of the leading edge of the engine compartment lid. The Giulia Sprint GT can also be distinguished from the later 105 Coupes by the Giulia Sprint GT badge on the boot lid, Alfa Romeo logo on the front grill and single piece chrome bumpers without overriders. The front grill is also flat with plain, wide rectangular mesh without additional chrome bars. The 1600 cc twin cam inline four engine produced 78 kW and in a roadster in December 1964 in Italian car magazine “Quattroruote” a top speed of 181,935 was achieved, not bad for a little 4-cyl sports car in the mid-sixties!

This specific car is a 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT with 92000kms indicated on the odometer. It is a two-owner car that has bee lovingly restored to a very high standard by the previous owner. The bodywork is near perfect. There are one or two small mechanical issues to be sorted. The interior is mostly original and needs minor tidying up to be done, with the biggest concern a crack in the dashboard.

These cars are becoming very rare and this car, finished in Bianco Spino with a black interior, is a beautiful example of this thoroughbred Italian sports car!
