1960 Porsche 356 B Coupe

The 356 was the first production car for Porsche. It was a rear-engine, rear wheel drive sports car that was very light and had unmatched handling characteristics. The car was available as a two-door coupe and as an open top. Porsche engineers continued to improve the car in the years of production. This increased the cars’ popularity and contributed to its success on the racetrack. Production started in 1948, and the first 50 cars were produced in Gmund, Austria. The factory relocated to Zuffenhausen in 1950 and production of the 356 continued until April 1965. 76000 cars were produced of which approximately half have survived.

This specific car is a 1960 B Coupe, finished in stunning Ivory with a red interior. Incredibly, this car has been in the same family since new, passed on from father to daughter! It has been lovingly maintained and about ten years ago it was restored to a very high standard. The car is well known in the 356 fraternity and was featured in international Porsche magazines. It has a good service and repair history. A major service and other repairs were done before it came to our floor, including a new clutch as well as a new exhaust system! A beautiful car, well maintained and looking for only its second owner!
