2015 Renault Megane RS 275 Trophy

The Renault Megane Renault Sport or RS for short is a series of hot hatches produced by the Renault Group. First versions were based on the second-generation Renault Megane with 3^rd and 4^th generation Meganes receiving the same treatment. In 2010, the Megane 3 RS was introduced. It featured the same F4RT 2.0 16 valve engine as its predecessor, but power was increased to 184kw. It was available in two trim levels Lux and Cup as we know them in South Africa. The Cup option features a stiffer chassis, more track focused suspension, a limited slip diff, red Brembo brake callipers and the very desirable Recaro Sportster seats. The Megane 3 RS was updated in 2012, receiving a power bump to 195 kw thanks to a French government tender for a high-speed pursuit vehicle that required 195kw.

In 2014 the Megane RS received a proper facelift. It featured a redesigned front end and refined interior with newer technology infotainment systems. A Trophy- R special edition was introduced in 2015 with Nürburgring lap times records being the focus. A “tamer’’ Trophy was produced along side the Trophy-R for those not wanting a hardcore track focused hot hatch. The Trophy benefited from the same 201kw engine found in the Trophy-R. The lightweight wheels, Akrapovic exhaust and Alcantara dressed interior also found their way into the Trophy.

This specific car is a 2015 Renault Megane Trophy finished in striking Etoilé Black. It has only covered roughly 51 000 km and features a full-service history with the last cambelt service being done in 2023.

A rare opportunity to own a hot hatch that not been put through the ringer. A car that was once dubbed “Best Hot Hatch” by Top Gear and it is obvious why even by today’s standards.
