1968 Ford Mustang Fastback
The first-generation Mustang was produced between 1964 and 1973. The long bonnet and short tail proved to be quite popular and inspired a host of competition in the new founded pony car segment. In 1967, the Mustang received its first major redesign. The car became bigger which allowed engineers to fit big-block V8s and significantly improve performance. The Mustang got a popularity boost in 1968 from the film Bullitt when Steve McQueen drove a modified 1968 Fastback through the streets of San Francisco chasing a Dodge Charger.
This specific car is a 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback. It was equipped with a 4.9L small block V8 from the factory with a 3-Speed automatic gearbox taking the power to the rear wheels. Finished in its original colour, Candy Apple Red over and original black leather interior, this Mustang is sure to turn heads everywhere it goes. The car above was restored in 2013/14 to a very good standard and as part of the restoration it was fitted with a Shelby body kit. The engine was upgraded with a Cobra Jet kit which includes different heads, intake manifold, a Holley 4-barrel performance carburettor and upgraded ignition. Willwood brakes were also fitted to complete the package.
The result, a homage of one of the most iconic cars in the world. A beautiful tribute created by someone with a dream and a passion who now wants to allow the next person to share that dream.
