The very first Porsche 911 was marketed as a luxury sports car and this very famous and distinctive  design was introduced in autumn 1963. The shape basically stayed the same until 1989 when it was succeeded by the 964. The 964 was still sold as a 911, as are all current models.

The 911 was a rear engine and air-cooled car. The 911 was modified both by private teams and the factory itself for racing, rallying and other types of automotive competition. The 911 is being hailed as the most successful competition car ever, especially when its variations are included, like the very powerful 911-derived 935. This car won 24 Hours of Le Mans and other major sports cars races outright against prototypes.  Pre-74 911’s came in three different model ranges namely a “T”, an “E” and the “S” version. Engine capacity changed from a 2.0L flat six cylinders in the early models to a 2.2L flat six cylinder and a 2.4L flat six cylinder in the last cars.

This specific car is a 1973 RS Replica built on a 1969 short wheel chassis. The project was completed in 2018 and sold in the same year as a newly built car. As with the original car the emphasis with this car was on weight saving. This car was stripped of most sound deadening and isolation materials. The interior is very bare and sparsely appointed. The front bonnet and the rear lid are made from fiberglass. The brakes were upgraded, and the 915 gearbox was retained. The engine was completely rebuilt.

Although this car is not perfect it is a very nice example. It is perfect for club racing or maybe for Historic car racing. It will be impossible to build a car like this for even close to the asking price.

Please take note that all cars can be viewed at showroom by appointment only.
