2011 Chevrolet Lumina SSV UTE
The sale of rebadged Australian muscle cars in South Africa dates back decades. From Holdens to Fords, South Africa and Australia share a love for muscle cars with big engines in them. The Chevrolet Lumina was the latest example of this being based on the Holden Commodore.
Available in both Saloon and UTE or “bakkie” form, the Chevrolet Lumina was loved by South Africans thanks to its huge 6.0L V8 engine and the option of either a manual or automatic gearbox. Towards the end of production in 2013, the V8 engine churned out 270kW and 530Nm of torque. This is combination with very little weight over the rear wheels allowed spirited drivers to throw the rear end around and have an absolute blast.
This specific car 2011 Chevrolet Lumina SSV UTE. The car was optioned with a manual gearbox which is arguably more desirable. Apart from that, this car is far from standard to be frank. - Water/methanol injection
- Custom engine back stainless-steel exhaust
- Big brake kit by Vari Brakes

- An ECU remap
All these modifications were made to ensure the chassis can keep up with what is essentially and engine suitable for a Nascar!
